Delivery package

The Obstetrics and gynecology department has progressively developed over the past years. This stands as a reference point to the scores of citizens of Bahrain who were either born or had a son or daughter born here. We have 8consultants who are well qualified and experienced. The outpatient clinic is open 7 days a week and is visited by about 2,000 patients a month.

Apart from regular antenatal and gynecology checkups, well woman health screening and breast checkups are conducted. Infertility patients form a major bulk of our patients. Cancer screening forms a part of this clinical work. We do pap smears; abnormal smears are treated by colposcopy and directed biopsies; while further treatment including cryosurgery is available. All major surgeries like hysterectomies and ovarian surgeries are done as well as minor ones like biopsies and endometrial samplings can be both diagnostic and operative laparoscopic procedures, including ovarian cystectomies and management of ectopic pregnancies are carried out.

The day case surgical unit offers an advantage of a quick turn around thereby reducing cost and extended hospital stay. Most of the laparoscopic surgeries are done as day case surgeries. The delivery package helps women to get the best care at a reasonable cost.

The labor ward has all the facilities for normal and instrumental deliveries. The pediatricians are readily available for assistance and the anesthesiologists are available for patients who opt for procedures like epidural analgesia.

A gynecologist/obstetrician is available 24 hours a day 7 days week enabling patients to get treated appropriately and at the right time.
