Island Classic

American Mission Hospital Island Classic Charity Golf Tournament

The AMH Island Classic Charity golf tournament is an exclusive golf tournament held under the kind patronage of His Majesty the King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, at his private golf course in Saffriya.

This is the major fundraiser of the hospital and since its inception in 1997, it has become a much awaited and coveted event in the sporting calendar of Bahrain.

The funds raised in the first five years of the tournament were utilized for the construction of the AMH 2000 building which connects with the original hospital building via a bridge over one of the busiest roads in Manama.

Since the 6th Island Classic, the funds raised have been channeled into the launching of new specialist clinics and for the purchase of technologically advanced equipment This allows us to continue to provide high quality medical care at reasonable and consistent rates without having to burden our patients with higher costs.

About 7 years ago, American Mission hospital took a leap back into the past with the introduction of the Community Outreach Program. In concept, the mission of this program was to continue the work of the pioneers who came on to the shores of this lovely island with an aim to serve and provide medical care to all those who needed it. Since the initiation of this program, the hospital has conducted a vast and varied variety of programs. From health checks at Social Centers, to vision and hearing treatment for children with special needs, to dental treatment for the blind. AMH is progressing in this project in leaps and bounds as we serve the community and people of Bahrain. Future projects relate to Downs Syndrome, Cancer, and others. Many of the community outreach programs have been held with the coordination of the Ministry of Social Development. Combined efforts have seen the introduction of several programs aimed at the less fortunate of our society and the response by the community attending has been overwhelmingly successful and encouraging.
