Physiotherapy is a support service, which assists the medical service in dealing with various aspects of treatment; rehabilitation and prevention of disorders utilizing exercise therapy and electrotherapy procedures. We help to relieve pain, rehabilitate muscles, improve spinal alignment and increase mobility.

Therapists are trained to treat the symptoms of injury and disease by physical means such as heat and pressure.
When a doctor recommends a patient for physiotherapy, the therapist evaluates the patient and plans a line of treatment.

In our hospital, we use a combination of 2 or more treatments lasting for 45- minutes - 1 hour on an alternate day basis for 5-10 sessions. In case of acute injury like wryneck, we give treatment on a daily basis for 3-5 sessions.

The common electro therapy modalities used in our hospital are:-
· Ultra sound - US
· Infra red radiation - IRR
· Paraffin wax bath - PWB
· Hot packs / cold packs
· Microwave diathermy - MWD
· Laser therapy: -
Electrical stimulation - Faradic
Galvanic - / Interrupted galvanic
TENS
Interferential - IFT
· Traction - Cervical / lumbar
· Massage

In exercise therapy we cover general exercise in mobility and strengthening co-coordinated exercise, Ambulation, Gait training, Antenatal / Postnatal exercises and manual muscle testing.
We cover chest physiotherapy for both IP and OPD with deep breathing exercises, postural drainage, pre / post of care and rehabilitation exercises.

Three types of patients utilize our services
1. Patients referred by our general physicians, surgeons and orthopedic surgeons.
2. Patients from private specialists and consultants from other hospitals
3. Direct patients i.e. patients with chronic illness such as arthritis etc. who have repeated attacks and others with simple sports injuries and strains.
