HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The Hospital Information Systems (HIS) Department functions as the Hospital's Computer Department. With over 130 PC's and 75 printers, there are always users needing help with something.

The computer programs currently used in our hospital include MedTrak with its Electronic Medical Record. The new Great Plains software is now in use in Finance and is being implemented in the Materials department.

The HIS Department is more than computers and data. We seek to provide information that is useful to the managers of the hospital and that supports their decision-making process. Sometimes this means developing special reports, either one-time reports or new periodic reports. On a daily and monthly basis, we provide reports to finance and administration, and develop new reports as needed. We also provide finance with the monthly invoices.
