It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Chief Medical Officer
and CEO of the
American
Mission
Hospital.
Transition times are opportunities for renewal and to rededicate
ourselves to the core values on which the organization was founded
over a hundred years ago. A new website is being developed to
reflect a series of changes that will enhance patient experience of
care both within the walls of the hospital and our outreach to the
community.
First of all I acknowledge the debt that I
owe to Dr Paul Armerding and his predecessors for their legacy of
service to
American
Mission
Hospital
and the community of the Kingdom of
Bahrain
going back to 1903.
My intention is to continue to fulfil the
mission of
American
Mission
Hospital
to provide high quality healthcare to all who seek care and at the
same time to carefully manage the process by which we deliver
quality care. As part of this process we will continue to develop
and strengthen our relationship with the Australian Council for
Healthcare Standards (ACHSI) and build on the accreditation that
they awarded us in 2006.
I also intend to build American Mission’s
reputation as a leader in defining healthcare policies in the
private sector and in partnering with Governmental agencies and
other interested parties in promoting lifestyle changes affecting
the quality of life for the community of the
Kingdom
of
Bahrain.
I am especially eager to develop the services we offer at our
hospital and at our
Saar
location.
I should stress that
American
Mission
Hospital
will continue to be a not-for-profit hospital. This means that we do
not have shareholders to pay dividends to and any surplus funds and
monies raised through charity goes back into the hospital funds to
improve our services and standards of care to the people of Bahrain.
If you do have any comments or ideas that
you believe I should hear please contact me on: gc@amh.org.bh
